The Sun Belt Conference announced Wednesday that the John Hunt Park Sand Volleyball Complex in Huntsville, Ala., will serve as the site of the 2024 Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship.
The event, hosted in conjunction with Rally Volleyball, will take place from April 25-27, 2024.
“We look forward to returning to Huntsville, Ala., for our 2024 Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship,” said Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Keith Gill. “The neutral-site John Hunt Park Sand Volleyball Complex will allow us to provide our student-athletes, coaches and fans with a first-class championship experience and atmosphere.”
The 2024 Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship will be the second-ever for the conference and the second-straight to be hosted in Huntsville, Ala. Georgia State won the inaugural title in 2023, advancing through four-straight matches without dropping a single set. The Panthers then represented the Sun Belt as an automatic qualifier into the National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship, where they fell to eventual national champion USC, 3-0, in the first round.
“Rally Volleyball, in conjunction with the City of Huntsville and the Huntsville Sports Commission, is honored the Sun Belt Conference has chosen to return to Huntsville for the second-straight year’, said Rally Volleyball CEO Colleen Craig. “The 15-court John Hunt Sand Complex provides a great atmosphere and centralized location for athletes to showcase their talents and for fans to enjoy the intimate atmosphere. We strive to provide an elevated experience for these deserving athletes, and others, as they have their eyes on a bid to national championship. We hope to see you in the sand!”
The Sun Belt is an eight-team beach volleyball league, with affiliate members College of Charleston, Mercer, Stephen F. Austin and UNCW joining core members Coastal Carolina, Georgia State, ULM and Southern Miss in sponsoring the sport.
