The results are in for the Rehoboth Beach Traffic Survey, which surveyed tourists, locals, and businesses on the congestion challenges facing the beach destination.
The draft survey found difficulties regarding traffic spaces, patterns, and commercial vehicles blocking the road while showing that many people would be willing to walk several blocks to their destination upon finding parking downtown.
With more than 600 responses all identified a lack of public transportation options, poor traffic signalization, and operations as key issues.
The report will be presented Monday night to the city council and will be used to inform changes as soon as this summer.
“They are planning to have some recommendations long term medium and short with some of the changes being possible to make before the next summer season,” said Rehoboth Department of Public Works Kevin Williams.
