Car Crashes Into Panama City Beach Apartments


We’re learning more about an incident where a truck reportedly crashed into an apartment building.

Update at 7 a.m. Tuesday:

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says a 23-year-old man was traveling north on Thomas Dr., south of Captain Ave. around 4:45 p.m. Monday. The driver left the roadway, and the front of his vehicle hit a road sign. The vehicle went through the road sign and then hit an apartment building, located at 3821 Thomas Dr.

The vehicle hit the side wall of apartments two and three. It then stopped and was partially inside apartment three.

A 38-year-old woman was inside of an apartment building, located at 3821 Thomas Dr. She had minor injuries. The vehicle’s driver also had minor injuries.

Our NewsChannel 7 team witnessed a Dodge Ram pickup truck colliding into an apartment on Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach.

Florida Highway Patrol says it’s possible the driver suffered a medical issue, resulting in the crash.

Troopers say a woman in one of the apartments was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

FHP is currently investigating, and Bay County Fire was also on the scene to assist.
