The section of 3.2km along the street is planned to become a high-class area with lots of green spaces.

The area spans 78 hectares, including 25 hectares of beach.

Late last month, authorities of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province launched a campaign to remove all tourism facilities built illegally along Bai Sau to give back open space to beachgoers.

Most of the projects demolished last month were blocking the sea view and obstructing paths leading to the beach.

The square will cover 10,000 sq.m.

According to the renovation plan, a restaurant will be built alternately between green areas, and a road connecting the entire length of the beach side will also be built.

Vung Tau also wants to use some of the reclaimed beach area as parks, pedestrian zones and other public works such as outdoor cinemas and restaurants.

Staff at an illegal tourist area gather beach umbrellas, chairs and benches in late April when the facility was taken down.

The reclaimed beach areas are now used by the authorities as temporary parking lots.

All entrances to the beach have now reopened.

The People’s Committee of Vung Tau Town said that it will organize a bidding to choose investors to run tourism services along the beach.

Fresh water shower poles serving beachgoers installed after the demolition of an illegal facility.

Workers install public toilets along Thuy Van Street now that the space has been cleared.
